Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on treatment that helps release tension deep in the body to relieve pain and support whole-body health. It works with the body’s fascia, which is the connective tissue that wraps around muscles and organs, the dural tube, which protects the brain and spinal cord, and the nervous system.
Using very light touch, often no more than the weight of a nickel, a practitioner helps the body unwind from stress, injury, or trauma. This can improve the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, the fluid that cushions your brain and spine, which supports the body’s natural healing processes.
CST is especially helpful for:
• Calming the nervous system, reducing anxiety, and improving sleep
• Supporting recovery from injuries including concussions and whiplash
• Releasing deep tension in the fascia, which can cause pain or limit movementUnlike massage, Craniosacral Therapy doesn’t focus on deep muscle work. Instead, it works more subtly, aiming to release long-held tension in the body’s connective tissues. It is done fully clothed in a quiet, relaxing setting, making it deeply restorative without being physically intense.
Though gentle, CST can create powerful shifts by helping your body return to a more balanced and relaxed state where healing can truly happen.

Each Craniosacral session is a unique experience. Because every body holds stress and tension differently, results vary from person to person. Some people feel deeply relaxed right away, while others may notice subtle shifts that build over time. It’s common for lasting changes to unfold gradually, often requiring a series of sessions as the body learns it’s safe to let go.
During a session, you’ll remain fully clothed while lying comfortably on a massage table. The practitioner uses gentle, still touch to listen to the rhythms of your body and support it in releasing held tension, particularly in the fascia and nervous system. As the body begins to "unwind," you might feel warmth, tingling, a sense of softening, or even small involuntary movements as restrictions gently release. Some people feel emotional releases during or after a session, this is normal and often part of the healing process, as emotions stored in the tissues are given space to move and clear.
In the hours or days following a session, you may feel lighter, calmer, or more connected to your body. It's also possible to feel a little tired or tender as your system integrates the work. Drinking plenty of water and giving yourself time to rest and process can help your body get the most out of the session.
Many clients report improved sleep, reduced pain or tension, better emotional balance, and a greater sense of ease. However, true healing often happens in layers. The body will release at the pace it feels safe to, and if you return to a high-stress environment right after a session, results may not hold as long. That’s why ongoing sessions are often recommended to help retrain your nervous system and reinforce the felt sense of safety and relaxation.
